Last Tuesday 14th of Aug., I discovered an Art shop here in Shanghai. I was amazed because they are using raw materials or recyclable materials to create and design beautiful paintings, murals, figurines made of clay, pretty decorations out of recycled trash such as papers, boxes, bottles, wood, and so on. I met the art director, Andy (Da Yu Zhou) and two other art coaches and teachers, Li Tong and Zhi Yuan Jin.

Andy’s art shop offers specific training courses where children are taught to integrate and use their best imagination to improve their skills on wood – engraving, painting and calligraphy, knitting, making patterns, combining and mixing patterns and colours, drawing, forming figures using clay, and making fancy and creative decorations.

They started their art workshop guided by the principle that we should train children to express themselves in a form of art work. We should guide the children to manipulate materials around his world and give them life through the wonders of their very own thinking and craftsmanship.

They also believe that we should lead our children to open their eyes in making our planet a beautiful place to live in by learning how to recycle used materials.

How great that there are people like Andy and his team making their way out to help change the world and making countless efforts to make a difference in the lives of young children. And I am so honoured and excited to get invited to attend their art workshop tomorrow and witness the children in action.

They have about 12 art workshop centres in the city of Shanghai. For more information about the courses and schedules, please directly contact their hotline —-> 400-820-2388 or 86-2161630345.
