From the time I discovered the arts shop in Shanghai plus inspiration from Pinterest, I got myself more into recycling and reusing things. I am a type of a woman in the house that does not throw things easily for thinking that there might be a use for everything, I just have to find out what I can create and transform it into.
So then, I kept more than a dozen of empty bottles (and plastics, and empty tissue roll, and paper bags and on and on). I’ve been thinking for months what to do with them, whether to make a vase, pen holder, candle holder, pin and button storage, sewing kit, and accessory storage.
Finally yesterday, I made up my mind and decided to make glass tea-light holders.
I only needed: a yarn, empty bottles, and a glue.
To remove the paper labels on the bottles, I soaked them up in hot water (remember to wear gloves) and I scratched them with a steel wool and it was clean as new after washing them

I chose this colour for the yarn to highlight the season which is autumn. See, the shades range from light orange to dark orange to a nice hue of grey.
Then I placed them together on a brown tray (I got from my friend – Eunice) which added more dramatic and cozier effect.

It is a perfect DIY arts and craft for this season. ! From plain bottles to perfect glass tea -light holders, simply flaming our home with a scent of lemon and orange aroma.
